Postdoctoral Associate
We are seeking a talented, highly motivated researcher to join the lab. The position offers an opportunity to lead a project to study the role of epigenetic deterioration in aging and age-related diseases. Particular research questions include how the epigenome is maintained during aging and how the maintenance system fails. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with epigenomics and bioinformatic analysis and should be familiar with large-scale epigenomic and chromatin analysis. Expertise in machine learning is preferred but not required. The expected hiring range for this position is $68,000.00 to $72,000.00, commensurate with experience. Please send your current CV, a cover letter describing your research interest, and the names of three references to xiaotian@sbp.edu.
Research Assistant
We are seeking a self-motivated Research Assistant to join the lab. The position offers a perfect opportunity for gap-year research, especially if you are interested in aging or want to learn more about aging research. The Research Assistant will participate in experiments directed by the Principal Investigator and postdocs. Experience in mouse handling is desirable but not required. They will also be responsible for lab maintenance and training new lab personnel. Bachelor’s degree in one of the biological science or related studies OR equivalent education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained is required. Please send a current CV, a brief description of your research experience, your goal, and the names of three references to xiaotian@sbp.edu.
Graduate student
We always welcome graduate students with strong interests in aging research to apply. You will learn, study, and do research in an engaged and highly collaborative environment. Students in the lab will receive adequate training from the PI to become independent researchers, with emphasis on running a project, designing experiments, scientific presentations, fellowship/grant applications, and establishing collaborations. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Xiao Tian directly at xiaotian@sbp.edu. The formal application should be submitted through the Sanford Burnham Prebys Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
